The Penthouse
9:00pm

Brenda entered the penthouse after a meeting with Lucy about the Spring promotional campaign for Jax Cosmetics. The penthouse was dark and she knew Jax would be late due to his dinner meeting with his investment bankers. Brenda yawned and stretched as she walked into the living room. She did not remember feeling as tired as she had felt over the past few days. She shrugged it off and sat on the couch.

Her meeting with Lucy had been at the Outback. Naturally, she had run into Miranda there. At this point, Brenda was convinced more than ever that Miranda wanted Jax back. She could not believe how Miranda had been able to fool him and most of Port Charles about her true agenda. She was such a manipulator. Images of Miranda and Jax being stranded in Buffalo together began to cloud her mind. Brenda quickly put those thoughts to rest as she thought of Jax and the promise of their life together. They had come too far to give up on there future now. Miranda was not going to stand in the way of their happiness, not now, not ever. With that, Brenda got up to take a shower while she waited for Jax to return.

Jax had finished with his meetings and entered the penthouse. He called out for Brenda and heard no response. He walked up the step toward the bedroom and heard the shower running. He then walked over to the desk and opened the package from the Clerk's Office in Buffalo. The package included the final decree for divorce executed by the judge. Well, that was done and it was now time to move forward with his life with Brenda.

He then remembered returning from his trip to Buffalo and finding Sonny at the penthouse. His blood still boiled at the very thought of Sonny being there. Two more mysterious packages had been delivered to Brenda since then. The police were investigating the situation but had come up with very little evidence or information thus far. Jax was convinced that Sonny was behind the deliveries and was amazed that Brenda had chosen to accept Sonny's word about not being involved. Jax knew Sonny was manipulating her again. The anger in him started to seep out but he quickly stifled it because he knew that Brenda was where she wanted to be and that she was happy. They had overcome so much and he vowed Sonny Corinthos was not going to stand in their way, no matter how hard he tried.

Brenda then entered the living room and ran over to Jax to kiss him. She noticed the package from the Clerk's Office in his hand, and hesitantly asked, "Is everything in order?"

"Yes, darling. The judge has signed the final divorce decree and Addie has cleared my schedule for the next few weeks so we are free to leave on Friday to start our new life together."

Brenda was beaming. "I am so happy. We can now move ahead and concentrate on our future."

Jax sighed. "I am just sorry that the delays cost us precious time and prevented us from getting to New Orleans to be married like we had planned."

Brenda frowned. "Jax, please stop worrying about that. We have both been under a lot of pressure due to the divorce and the anonymous gifts that I think visiting New Orleans during Mardi Gras would have been too much for us right now. Besides, I can't wait to get to Bensonhurst so we can see Lois and Brooke Lynn and you can met Carmine and Gloria and the rest of the Cerullo family. Also, the timing is perfect since Thao is in New York this week on business and can be your best man. It will be great to see him again."

Jax smiled. "You are right, especially the way you have been feeling the past few days. I am going to be sure that you get all the rest and attention you need on our honeymoon."

"Jax, I am fine. You are worse than a Mother Hen. I just need some quality time alone with my husband."

"Well, that has been arranged, my dear," said Jax as he grinned at Brenda. "However, I still can't believe that I actually let you talk me into getting married in Bensonhurst on Valentine's Day of all days."

Brenda laughed. "Where is your romantic side, Mr. Jacks?

Jax pulled slightly away from her and looked into her eyes saying, "Do you know how much I love you, Brenda?

As Jax lowered his head to kiss her, Brenda whispered, "Do you know that I have been waiting my whole life to feel like this?

As their lips met, the rest of the world disappeared and the fires of passion overtook them. Jax effortlessly lifted Brenda into his arms and carried her to the bedroom where they spent the rest of the night in each other's arms celebrating their love.

11:00am

It was late morning and Jax was on the phone with Addie discussing the last minute business matters which had to be addressed before he left town. At the same time, Lois and Brenda were on the other line discussing the final details for the wedding. Brenda had already spoken to Robin to confirm the transportation arrangements Jax had made for her to travel to Bensonhurst.

As Jax hung up with Addie, he looked over at Brenda and noticed how tired and pale she looked. He then picked up the phone again and called Alan's office to make an appointment for Brenda. Brenda overheard the conversation and began vehemently protesting.

"Jax, what are you doing? I am fine and certainly do not have time to go to the hospital for an unnecessary examination. I am getting married tomorrow and have a hundred things to do before we leave for Bensonhurst in the morning."

Jax ignored her protests and proceeded to make a late afternoon appointment for her with Alan.

Brenda hung up with Lois and Jax immediately told her to save her breath.

"Brenda, I am not about to take any chances with your health, especially now when we are leaving for a three week trip. Kronos is a paradise of amazing grandeur but one thing that it does not have is a hospital."

Brenda relented because she had neither the time nor the energy to argue with him about this winless situation.

Alan's office
4:00pm

After her examination, Brenda sat down with Alan. "Well, Brenda, I see nothing that looks out of the ordinary. I am sure that the stress you have been under over the past few months has finally taken its toll. I am glad you will be getting some much needed rest and relaxation on your trip and am thrilled that you and Jax have weathered the storm and are moving on. I have run some tests but the results will not be available until tomorrow due to the lateness of the hour. I do not expect any surprises, however."

Brenda shook her head. "I told Jax this was unnecessary, but he chose not to listen."

Alan laughed. "That is why we husbands are around, Brenda, to look after our wives whether they need it or not. I know you leave in the morning for a few weeks so if anything comes up that I need to discuss with you, I will leave a message on your machine. Here is my beeper number should you need to reach me while you are gone. Again, I want to wish you and Jax the best and please give Lois and Brooke Lynn our love."

"I second that," said Monica as she walked into Alan's office.

"Thank you both very much," said Brenda as she hugged Monica and then left the office.

"Well, it looks like things worked out for Brenda and Jax after all. I am glad to see they did not give up on one another even with the appearance of Miranda," noted Monica.

"Yes," agreed Alan. "Sometimes love does really win out."

The Limo
11:00am

As the limo traveled toward Bensonhurst, Brenda and Jax sat together hand and hand, taking full advantage of the last moments of peace and quiet they would have for the rest of the day. The limo had been packed for their stay in New York and the continuation of their three week journey. Jax had made arrangements for them to spend the next two nights in the Honeymoon Suite of The Plaza Hotel in New York City. They would then leave for Kronos on Sunday.

"Are your ready for this, Mr. Jacks?"

"Yes, Mrs. Jacks. And remember they do say the third time's the charm."

"It had better be," chimed Brenda. "I do not ever want to plan another wedding."

They both laughed and held each other close as the limo made its way to Bensonhurst.

Brenda and Jax could barely make it through the door before Lois ran over to hug them both. "Oh, you two look so gorgeous. I can't wait until this evening. This is going to be so perfect." Lois then introduced Jax to Carmine as Brenda moved over to hug him.

Brenda asked, "Where are Brooke Lynn and Gloria? I can't wait for Jax to meet them."

Lois explained that Brooke Lynn was napping and that Gloria is at the church with Father Dominic going over the final arrangements for this evening.

Carmine checked the oven for the progress of the lasagna and eggplant parmesan as he spoke "Gloria left us in charge of the food detail until she gets back. I know this place is no ballroom but we are honored that you are using our humble surroundings for your reception."

Lois nodded in agreement as she stated, "Do not worry about it, Pop, we still have a lot of decorating to do and this place will look fabulous. Flowers and balloons are going to be delivered this afternoon to add to the decor."

Jax then said, "You and your family have done so much for us already I do not know how we will ever be able to thank you."

Brenda agreed and hugged Lois.

Carmine then put his hands up and said, "We are thrilled to have been able to help. Brenda has been such a friend to Lois Marie that she is like one of the family. Besides she is the godmother of my granddaughter. We will do anything we can to help make her happy."

As the tears started to well up in Brenda's eyes, Lois started waving her arms and told her, "No, none of that, Bren. We still have a lot of work to do." She then told Jax, "It's time for you to get out of here, mister. You have already seen too much of your bride today. Head on off to the hotel and be at the church by 6:30pm. And do not be late because if you are, I will send my brothers after you."

Jax said his good-byes to Lois and Carmine and then took Brenda in his arms. As their lips united, Lois rushed over to them and said, "Geez. Enough already. You will have plenty of time for that later. Good-bye Jax."

Brenda and Jax each removed their wedding rings and handed them to each other. Brenda laughed as Lois finally managed to push Jax out the front door.

Cerullo Residence
3:00pm

Robin had arrived and she and Lois were playing with Brooke Lynn when Gloria came through the front door muttering about the florist. "What's wrong, Ma?" Gloria took off her coat and explained, "Lois Marie, do you believe that Andretti's Florist delivered red roses instead of pink roses to St. Vincent's. Well, believe you me, I gave Frank Andretti an earful and he is remedying the errors of his ways as we speak."

"Ma, please stop worrying. Everything is going to be perfect. We have everything under control here. The lasagna, eggplant parmesan, meatballs and sausage are done and Joey and Louie moved some of the furniture from the living room so there is some room for dancing. Mr. Andretti delivered the flowers and the balloons and Mr. Giovanni delivered the champagne. The only left to do is to go next door and pick up the cake from Mrs. Lombardi."

Robin nodded in agreement and told Gloria, "Lois is right. Everything has been handled so you can stop worrying."

Gloria laughed as she looked at them both, "I will stop worrying when Brenda and Jax leave here this evening for the hotel and not a minute before that. Speaking of Brenda, where is she?"

"She is upstairs taking a shower," responded Lois. "We are giving her some time to herself but you are more nervous than she is, Ma."

"Good," Gloria murmured. "That is the way it is supposed to be."

Meanwhile, Brenda had finished her shower and had completed her manicure. She was sitting at Lois' dressing table and thinking how lucky she was to have friends like Lois and Robin. She got up and decided to call the penthouse to check on her messages. As she accessed her machine, she found messages of congratulations from Lila and Edward, Lucy and Kevin and Keesha and AJ. The final message was from Alan who asked that she call him at the hospital as soon as possible. A wave of panic hit her as she dialed his office number.

"Alan, it's Brenda. I trust nothing is wrong?"

"No, Brenda, believe me there is nothing wrong. I just wanted to let you know that your test results are in and I wanted to be the first to congratulate you."

A confused Brenda asked him to please explain.

"Well, Brenda, it turns out that your symptoms were not the result of stress but instead are the result of impending motherhood."

A shocked Brenda asked Alan to repeat himself.

Alan laughed and told her, "Brenda you're pregnant. Congratulations!"

Brenda instantly fell onto Lois' bed in stunned silence as Alan continued, "I know this must be a shock to you, especially hearing such news over the phone, but I wanted to get the news to you before you left for your honeymoon in case you and Jax planned to try your hand at skydiving or hang gliding on your trip."

Brenda had finally started to breathe again and quietly asked, "When?"

Alan looked at her chart and told her, "It looks like you conceived around the 24th of December so your due date will be sometime during the last week of September. I will refer you to Dr. Meadows once you get back and she will schedule a sonogram to better pinpoint the date."

Brenda started grinning and thanked Alan for the news. Alan again congratulated her and, before hanging up, reminded her to stay away from the champagne and to try to keep her feet on the ground.

Brenda instinctively placed both of her hands on her stomach as she walked over to the mirror. She thought back to Christmas Eve and her heart leapt for joy as the memories began to flood her mind -- the caroling/storytelling party in the children's ward, decorating their first Christmas tree, making love on the living floor in front of the fire and then spending the rest of the night together in each other's arms as the Christmas tree lights twinkled around them. What could be more perfect than a child conceived at Christmas. They hadn't planned it, but she was beyond excited about the news. This would cement their union and keep Miranda out of their lives. She just hoped Jax would feel the same way.

Brenda started pacing the floor and suddenly realized how nervous she had become. She had to figure out how and when to tell Jax. She quickly decided that she would wait until after the ceremony and reception. She did not know how she was going to get through the rest of the day without telling him the news but she would have to try.

Brenda heard laughter from downstairs and decided it was time to pull herself together and join Lois and Robin. As she entered the kitchen, Robin and Lois were sitting at the table finishing their manicures. Lois looked up at Brenda and asked, "Brenda, what's wrong? You look like the cat that swallowed the canary."

Before Brenda could say anything, the sounds of cries from the nursery were heard and Brenda quickly went to get her goddaughter. Robin and Lois were talking about Brenda's state of mind when Gloria came through the back door with the cake from Mrs. Lombardi. It was beautiful, very much like the cake from the first wedding on the yacht. Gloria put the cake down as Brenda entered the kitchen with the baby. Brenda was beaming. Gloria went to hug Brenda and as they released their hold on one another, Gloria's eyes caught Brenda's gaze and recognized the look instantly. Gloria smiled and hugged Brenda again and whispered, "You are going to make a wonderful mother, Brenda." Brenda was again beaming.

"Okay, what gives, you two? Now you both have that same look on your face," said Lois. "You need to clue the rest of us in."

Brenda could not stand it any longer. She had to say it out loud. She relayed her conversation with Alan and both Robin and Lois jumped up from the table and started screaming. Gloria took Brooke Lynn as hugs and congratulations were exchanged. Robin then asked Gloria, "How did you know?" Gloria explained that the look in Brenda's eyes gave her away.

Brenda had to sit down before her legs collapsed beneath her. Lois then asked about Jax. Brenda explained that she was going to wait until after the reception to give him the news. All three women again congratulated Brenda and reassured her that Jax would be just as happy as she was.

The Plaza Hotel
5:30pm

Jax finished his phone call with his parents as they both wished him a lifetime of love with Brenda. John had been suffering from a respiratory infection and the doctors had forbidden him from traveling so John and Jane would not be attending the wedding. Jax and Brenda planned to visit them in Alaska after they left Kronos. Jax mentally went over his list for the festivities and evening ahead. He had the ring in his pocket to give to Thao. Candles and dozens of roses had been delivered to the suite. Jax had arranged for champagne and a light supper to be brought to the suite later that evening. He had also made arrangements for breakfast and a carriage ride through Central Park in the morning.

Thao arrived and Jax handed him the ring. A messenger from Tiffany & Co. then arrived to deliver Jax' wedding gift to Brenda. Jax and Thao were both wearing black tuxedos with royal blue vests and both men looked extremely handsome. Jax finished getting dressed and the two men left for the chapel.

St. Vincent's Chapel
6:45pm

Lois and Robin fixed Brenda's hair as she nervously put on the final touches of her make-up. She was wearing the gown from the wedding on the yacht but had added a short matching satin jacket due to the change in seasons. Lois and Robin were wearing full length royal blue silk gowns with matching jackets.

Gloria entered the dressing room to tell the ladies that everything was ready. The chapel looked beautiful as gardenias lined the pews and dozens of white candles and pink roses adorned the altar. Jax and Thao moved into their places as Robin and Lois, carrying bouquets of pink roses, walked down the aisle.

The wedding march began and Brenda slowly made her way down the aisle carrying her bouquet of white roses. Jax heard his breath catch as she approached him. She looked even more beautiful than when they had been married on the yacht. Her radiance outshone the light of the candles which surrounded him. He could not look away from her as he stared into those beautiful, brown eyes and envisioned a lifetime of waking up to the warmth and love which shown through them.

Jax and Brenda took each other's hand as Father Dominic proceeded with the ceremony. Jax and Brenda had written their own vows and Father Dominic asked Jax to recite his vows to Brenda.

Jax took both of Brenda's hands in his and began. "Brenda, my love, you are my best friend. You have shown me what the true meaning of trust and understanding really means. You held on when no on else would and demonstrated such courage and commitment when I had no right to ask you of such. I love you more than I thought was humanly possible. I know now that I can't live without you -- I can't even imagine trying to. I want to spend the rest of my life making all your dreams come true."

As tears streamed down Brenda's cheeks, Father Dominic asked her to recite her vows to Jax. She lovingly raised the palm of her right hand to Jax' face and said, "Jax, no one has ever loved me the way that you do. You have shown me what it is like to be treasured. You have taught me to be patient and shown me what it is like to feel safe. You trusted me when I did not even trust myself. You allow me to be myself and love me for it anyway. You are my best friend and have made me happier than I ever thought possible. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you have made me." Brenda smiled through her tears and Jax tenderly kissed her palm.

The couple exchanged rings as Lois, Robin, Thao and the Cerullo family looked on. Steady streams of tears were running down the cheeks of Gloria, Lois and Robin throughout the ceremony. Jax and Brenda were pronounced husband and wife and cheers rung out in the chapel from the guests as Jax kissed his bride and the couple made its way up the aisle.

Cerullo Residence
9:00pm

Dinner had been served and Gloria's masterful culinary skills had brought rave reviews from the guests. As champagne was passed among the guests, Thao presented the couple with a toast wishing them a lifetime of eternal love and happiness. Gloria had inconspicuously exchanged Brenda's champagne for a glass of sparkling cider. Jax and Brenda then had their first dance to the music of Toni Braxton. Carmine and Gloria each stepped in to dance with Brenda and Jax as "parents" of the bride and groom. Brenda whispered to Jax as she saw Thao ask Lois for a swing on the dance floor. Jax laughed as he told Brenda that his friend did not know what he was up against with Lois. Robin danced with Lois' brother, Joey, and the evening was in full swing.

After more dancing and carousing, Jax and Brenda cut the cake and managed to behave themselves as they fed it to each other (much to the chagrin of the crowd.) Lois' brother, Louie, was busy snapping pictures throughout the entire evening. Brooke Lynn even got into the action as Jax twirled her around the dance floor. Brenda smiled to herself as she saw how at ease Jax seemed with Brooke Lynn. A great time was had by all as the evening passed very quickly.

As it was time to call it a night, hugs and kisses were exchanged by all. Brenda tearfully exclaimed how wonderful it was to be part of such a wonderful family and group of friends.

As Jax was thanking Gloria and Carmine, Lois and Robin stole Brenda away for a private moment. "Well, have you decided how you are going to tell him," asked Lois.

Brenda replied, "No, I just hope that I will know how to tell him when the time is right."

Robin hugged Brenda and told her, "Brenda, you will find the perfect moment and the perfect words. I know Jax is going to be ecstatic. It is so obvious that he adores you. I can't believe I ever questioned whether or not you two belonged together."

Brenda told Robin she was no longer thinking about the past because she and Jax were now only concentrating on the future. She hugged Lois and Robin again and went over to meet Jax and to give a good-bye kiss to Thao.

Jax and Brenda then rushed into the awaiting limo amidst the swirl of confetti and waves of good-bye. As they headed into Manhattan, Jax took Brenda into his arms and pulled her into his lap. He began to run his lips up and down her neck. Brenda turned to him and started nibbling on his ear for her part in the game. As Jax ran his hand down her chest to caress the warm skin between her breasts, Brenda gasped and time stood still as their lips met, generating enough passion to warm the coldest of February nights.

The Plaza Hotel
11:30pm

As they exited the elevator, Jax picked up Brenda and carried her to the door of the Honeymoon Suite. As he carried her over the threshold, they entered the suite and were met by the fragrance of roses, the sound of music and the glow of candlelight. The hotel staff had followed Jax' instructions to the letter. A bottle of champagne was chilling and a late night supper had been delivered.

Brenda exclaimed, "Jax, it is so beautiful." As he put her down, she softly kissed him. "Don't go away. I am going to change and I'll be right back."

"You'd better be, Mrs. Jacks. Otherwise I will have to take drastic measures to find you and you will have to face the consequences."

As Brenda laughed and walked toward the bedroom, she muttered, "Promises, promises."

"You are going to regret that," Jax pledged.

"I certainly hope so," Brenda retorted.

Brenda entered the bedroom and sat on the bed. She wondered how to tell Jax about the baby. She realized that she was more nervous than she had thought and worried that she was going to start to hyperventilate. As Brenda pushed her panic aside, she slipped into an ivory silk nightgown which clung perfectly to her every curve. She looked into the mirror and smiled as she wondered how much longer she would be able to fit into the gown. Brenda then put on the matching robe and went into the bathroom to brush her hair and check her make-up.

In the meantime, Jax had changed out of his tuxedo. He was wearing his blue silk boxers and a matching silk robe and moved over to the room safe and removed the Tiffany & Co. box. The bedroom door opened and Brenda walked out. Jax quietly gasped as she approached him, still in awe of just how beautiful she looked today. Brenda, too, was in awe as she gazed at his muscular frame. They met in the center of the room and Jax extended his hands to her and pulled Brenda close as they sway to sound of the soft music permeating the room. Brenda wrapped her arms around him tighter in order to feel him as close as possible.

Jax then led her to the table where they sat and took turns feeding each other a light supper. Jax leaned over the table and kissed her and took her hand as he led her to the sofa. Jax sat beside her and then handed her the Tiffany gift box. Brenda opened the box to find an exquisite ruby and diamond bracelet.

Her breath caught as she looked up at him. "Jax, it is so beautiful." As Jax fastened the glittering bauble around her arm, he told her, "You are more precious than these rubies and more sparkling than the diamonds. Brenda, you are my lifeline and the richness in the color of those rubies can't compare to the richness you have given me. This is my gift to remind you of our strength and the start of our new life together."

With that, Brenda knew it was the perfect time to tell him about their impending miracle. She took a deep breath and took both of Jax's hands in hers and kissed them. She gazed into his deep blue eyes and the words came straight from her heart. "Jax, my love, you have made me happier than I ever imagined. You have shown me that true love conquers all. Our love has overcome our pasts and will only strengthen in the future. And, my darling, now our love has given us an incredible gift as we have created something more precious and more miraculous than anything in this world -- a child."

A look of sheer joy crossed Jax' face. "Oh, Brenda. A baby..... Our baby. We are going to be parents?" Brenda started to nod and Jax grabbed her. He rose from the couch and began swinging her around the center of the room. He then worried about spinning her around and quickly puts Brenda down. "I am sorry. Are you all right?" Brenda giggled and told him she was perfect.

Brenda took Jax's hand and sat down with him on the couch again. She then moved both of his hands and placed them against her stomach. He asked when she found out and she told him about her conversation with Alan. When she told him that they had conceived on Christmas Eve, Jax smiled and said, "How perfect." He then took her face in his hands and whispered, "I love you so much, Mrs. Jacks. I am going to devote the rest of my life to you and this baby." Jax then pulled her lips to his and tenderly kissed her.

As their lips separated, Brenda whispered, "Jax, you have made all my dreams come true. I love you and this baby more than anything in this world." At this, their lips met again and Brenda melted into his arms. Jax lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bedroom where he sat her on the bed. He removed her robe as she pushed his robe from his shoulders. Their lips reunited and Jax eased her onto the bed. Their bodies remained entwined as they slipped under the satin sheets. As they finally released each other's lips, Jax lifted the silk gown over her head. He was mesmerized by her radiance and the fragileness of her body and was suddenly cautious with his next move. Brenda smiled at him and quietly said, "I'm not going to break."

Jax lowered his head and Brenda felt the warmth of his lips caressing her neck. His lips then worked their way down her shoulders and arms. When they reached her stomach, Jax murmured, "I love you." As his mouth hungrily moved to her breasts, Brenda softly moaned and whispered his name. Jax's hands began to caress her thighs and he eased himself on top of her. Brenda's arousal level had reached its threshold as she dug her fingernails into his shoulders and arched her back begging him to join her in ecstasy. Breathless gasps were heard from Jax as Brenda's tongue traced the tip of his ear. Jax had lost control now and groaned as their bodies moved together in perfect unison. They deepened their connection and reached each other's souls as their passion completely overtook them. After their love was spent, there were no adequate words to describe what they had just shared. They had truly become one in body, heart and soul.

Saturday, February 15, 1997
The Plaza Hotel
7:00am

Brenda was blissfully sleeping in Jax' arms as dawn arrived. Jax gazed at his lovely wife as he relived the events of the past 24 hours. He and Brenda were together and he was going to be a father. And now Sonny would have to let them be. Jax had never realized this was all he ever wanted from life until the moment Brenda had given him the news. His heart was beating so fast, he did not know how it could remain in his chest.

Brenda stirred and he could not believe the glow she was emitting. It was brighter than the brightest sunrise. As the hours passed, they remained entwined in each other's arms. When Brenda finally awoke, she found Jax's hands gently caressing her stomach. She looked up at him, smiled and said, "Good morning, Daddy."

Jax softly kissed her lips and responded, "Good morning, Mommy. Are you and our little one ready for breakfast?"

"We are starving," answered Brenda.

With that, Jax got up and went into the living area of the suite and returned with a breakfast cart filled with eggs, fruit, breads, yogurt, oatmeal, milk, and juice. "Breakfast is served, my Lady."

"Jax, did you invite the entire wedding party for breakfast? We cannot possibly eat half of that food."

"Brenda, you are eating for two now. I called Alan this morning and he told me you need protein, vitamins and minerals. You also need plenty of calcium so I ordered yogurt and a pitcher of milk."

"You called Alan on a Saturday morning to ask him what to order for breakfast. Aren't we a bit over the top on this, sweetheart?"

"I am merely taking care of my wife and child and there is nothing wrong with that. Now start eating that yogurt."

Brenda grimaced as she reminded him, "You know I do not like yogurt nor most dairy products."

"Well, our child has inherited its father's genes concerning dairy products so yogurt will now be on the menu."

Brenda laughed and asked, "Excuse me, but how do you know what our child's food likes and dislikes will be?"

"Let's just say I have a sixth sense about these things, so start eating."

"You are crazy, Mr. Jacks, especially if you think I am going to eat yogurt every day on account of some supposed sixth sense you have. You will have to come up with a better offer than that."

Jax shook his head in mock disgust at her. "How about a reward for every dairy product you eat?" As Brenda began to slyly smile, Jax said, "And before you get too excited -- frozen yogurt, gelato, sorbet and ice cream do not count."

Brenda proceeded to stick out her tongue at him. "What kind of reward do you have in mind?"

"You tell me, Mrs. Jacks."

"Well, I am sure I can think of something. It's a deal, Mr. Jacks."

Jax pondered his offer and mumbled, "Why do I think I am going to regret this arrangement?"

"Trust me, you will," replied Brenda as she laughed at Jax. Jax began to feed her spoonfuls of yogurt as they continued with breakfast and discussed their plans for the day ahead.

Once breakfast was over, Jax began to read the newspaper and Brenda walked over to him and sat in his lap. "I am ready to collect on my reward now."

"Well, what is it?"

"I am going to take a bath and I need my back scrubbed and my hair washed."

"Good heavens, it is worse than I imagined. You know how much I hate to touch you," said Jax as he went into the bathroom to draw her a bath.

As Brenda slid into the sunken tub, the warm water immediately engulfed her. As Jax gently scrubbed her back, she quietly moaned. While his hands caressed her scalp and sensually ran through her hair, Brenda thought she was in heaven. When he finished, Jax wrapped her in a bath sheet and carried her to the bed. She then pulled him onto the bed with her and their lips and bodies met as their passion erupted.

Later, while Jax showered, Brenda called Lois. As Robin listened on the other extension at the Cerullo house, Brenda told her friends of Jax's excitement over the pregnancy. Robin and Lois could hear the sheer joy in her voice and were thrilled for her. They made plans to meet for brunch on Sunday before Jax and Brenda left for Kronos and Robin returned to New Haven. Thao and Gloria and Carmine would also be joining them.

Streets of New York
Noon

Jax and Brenda had finished their carriage ride through Central Park and were walking up Fifth Avenue enjoying the sights and sounds of Manhattan. Jax shook his head as Brenda had to stop and look at every pair of shoes found in the window displays of New York's finest boutiques. It brought back memories of Beverly Hills and their shopping spree on Rodeo Drive. "Jax, stop smirking. I told you when we were shopping in California that a woman can never have too many pairs of shoes."

As they ventured further up Fifth Avenue, Brenda stopped as they reached a baby boutique. When she looked at the layette display in the store window, she placed both hands on her stomach prompting Jax to gently place his hands over hers. As they stood there, the rest of the world disappeared as the hustle and bustle of the city were overtaken by the love in their hearts.

After having lunch and watching the skaters at Rockefeller Center, Jax and Brenda returned to the hotel. Jax had made dinner reservations at the Rainbow Room and he wanted Brenda to get some rest before the evening arrived. She had told him she was not tired and insisted that she did not need to go to bed. They reached a compromise as she agreed to lie down on the couch and rest her head in his lap. She proceeded to fall asleep five minutes after her head hit the pillow.

As Jax watched her sleep, his mind filled with visions of the future. He saw Brenda cradling their beautiful, dark haired daughter with eyes as black as onyx. He saw her sitting in a rocking chair with their precious daughter nursing at her breast. He heard Brenda singing lullabies as she rocked their daughter to sleep. As he again gazed at Brenda, he thought his heart would explode with the love he felt for her and their child.

Rainbow Room
8:00pm

Jax and Brenda were shown to a table which provided a perfect view of the lights of the City below. Brenda was wearing a low cut midnight blue silk cocktail dress and Jax was wearing a navy blue suit. They both looked incredible and caught the eyes of more than a few of the restaurant guests as they were seated. As they dined by candlelight, the love that passed between them was evident to all who were in their presence.

As they dined high above the City, snow began to fall on the streets of Manhattan. Brenda remarked at how beautiful everything looked. When the waiter brought the dessert tray, Brenda could not hide her grin as she saw the cheesecake. Jax lifted up his eyes to the heavens as she ordered a slice. The waiter asked if Jax cared for anything and Jax replied, "Yes, to have my head examined." Brenda was hysterical at this point and told Jax, "You were right, darling. I really do need to include more dairy products in my diet."

As they left the restaurant and headed toward the waiting limo, Brenda told Jax she wanted to walk back to the hotel.

"Honey, it's quite a walk especially in those heels plus it's snowing."

"Jax, it's not that far to the hotel and it is so beautiful. Besides, if my feet bother me, you will just have to carry me."

Jax did not look persuaded so Brenda then reminded him, "Sweetheart, remember the cheesecake and my reward."

"Oh, I give up," said Jax as he told the driver to return to the hotel without them.

Jax held tightly to Brenda as they walked toward the hotel. She was right, the City was beautiful. As they turned the corner and saw the hotel, Brenda stopped and turned to Jax. "I love you more than you will ever know."

"Believe me, Brenda. I know." With that, he lifted her into his arms and softly kissed her lips. Jax then proceeded to carry her the rest of the way to the hotel.

As they entered the suite, Brenda was still in his arms. Jax put her down while they removed their coats and he took off his dinner jacket. He then sat down on the couch with Brenda on his lap. Their lips met as Brenda began unbuttoning his shirt. Her lips then began caressing his chest as he began to unzip her dress. Jax removed the barrette from her hair and watched as the curls fell to her shoulders. Their lips reunited and their hunger for one another intensified. Jax quickly rose from the couch and carried Brenda into the bedroom. As Jax undressed her, their lips never parted. He laid her on the bed as he removed his clothes. Jax whispered his profession of love as he eased on top of her and their bodies molded together to become one.

Tavern on the Green
Noon

Jax, Brenda, Gloria, Carmine, Lois, Robin and Thao were enjoying a delightful brunch at Tavern on the Green. The view of Central Park were beautiful as it glistened from last night's snowfall. Thao was very happy for Jax and Brenda when Jax told him about the baby. Lois and Robin hugged Jax and Gloria and Carmine also passed on their congratulations.

As Jax piled food on Brenda's plate, she rolled her eyes. Gloria noticed the interaction between the two and suppressed her laughter. When Jax left the table, Gloria whispered to Brenda that Carmine was the same way during their first pregnancy. Jax came back to the table with yogurt and bananas and smirked at Brenda. He knew she hated bananas more than yogurt so she knew he was getting her back for yesterday. Brenda held her breath and ate the yogurt and bananas. She was going to get him back for this.

After brunch was over, there were hugs and kisses and a few tears shed among the crowd. Lois made Brenda and Jax promise to visit her often before the baby came and their lives changed forever. Gloria and Carmine wished them a wonderful life together. Robin told Brenda she loved her and told Brenda she would not say anything to Jason or Sonny about the baby until Jax and Brenda had announced the news in Port Charles.

Jax had arranged for a car to take Robin back to New Haven directly from the restaurant. Thao promised he would see Jax and Brenda on the Isabella in June for the annual gambling party. Thao was leaving later that night for London to continue with his business matters. Jax and Brenda then returned to The Plaza to finish packing and relax before their trip. The jet was scheduled to leave for Kronos at 6:00pm.

Kronos
9:00am

Jax awakened Brenda as the jet made its descent onto the private air strip. Brenda was immediately captivated by the beauty of the island as could be seen from overhead. She knew February was not the ideal month to visit the Adriatic but the island's tropical appearance even in the winter season was breathtaking. Jax smiled as he watched her amazement at the view.

After they had deboarded the plane, Jax introduced Brenda to Andreas who was waiting to drive them to the villa. As they drove toward the villa, Brenda was astonished at the beauty and wildlife which surrounded them. Jax was right, the isle was a "piece of paradise." The car passed through a set of gates and traveled up a private drive surrounded by tropical plants and trees. After a few minutes, they reached a clearing which revealed a spectacular white-washed villa overlooking the azure harbor. Brenda gasped as the beauty of the scene overtook her.

"Well, Mrs. Jacks, are you disappointed?"

"Jax, it is even more incredible than I imagined."

As Andreas began to unpack their bags from the car, Jax introduced Brenda to Andreas' wife, Christina, and they entered the villa. As they passed through the foyer, they came to a huge living room. It was the most spectacular room Brenda had ever seen. The entire back wall consisted of floor to ceiling windows and/or doors presenting a view of the harbor and entrance to the terrace. There was a huge stone fireplace on the right and a huge bar area to the left. The room was furnished with 19th century antiques and the walls were adorned with paintings by Picasso.

There was a doorway from the bar area to enter the dining room and conservatory. The dining room table and chairs were handcarved from the finest mahogany and had been used to entertain ambassadors and heads of state. The chandelier which hung over the table was made by the finest glass makers in Venice. The music room included a gorgeous Steinway grand piano and was large enough to seat a small orchestra. The kitchen also included a huge fireplace and had been remodeled to include the best of today's amenities and appliances for Christina's use. There was a smaller residence on the property where Christina and Andreas lived full time.

Jax took Brenda's hand and led her up the stairs. The stairwell was a masterpiece in itself as the banister was handcarved from cherry and mirrors made from Venetian glass hung from the walls ascending the stairs. They entered the master bedroom suite and again Brenda was in awe. The suite also had floor to ceiling windows and doors to reach the balcony overlooking the cliffs and harbor. There was a stone fireplace and a beautiful four poster bed carved from cherry on the right. Ivory down pillows and a down comforter covered the bed. The center of the room was comprised of the living area. The master bath was tiled with green marble and included a huge sunken marble tub and separate shower and had a separate make-up/dressing area.

Brenda sat down on the bed and closed her eyes. Jax sat down beside her and put his arms around her.

"Jax, please tell me I am not dreaming."

"You are not dreaming, my love. This all belongs to you now. Trust me, Thao will regret the day he ever gambled with this paradise. Believe me, I will never make that mistake again. You made this all possible, Brenda, and I will never forget that."

Brenda smiled at him and caressed Jax's cheek. As their lips met, the world once again stood still.

The Villa
9:00pm

Jax and Brenda had spent the day together in the villa and on the nearby grounds. Jax knew Brenda was tired from the long trip so the major exploration of the island would start tomorrow. Christina had served them an early dinner so they could make it an early evening. They were on the balcony of the master suite and the stars were dancing in the sky as the moon created a sparkling reflection on the harbor. As Brenda looked at Jax in the moonlight, her heart leapt. She could not believe they were finally together, away from the distractions of Port Charles, and now expecting a child. It was perfect but could not help thinking it was too perfect. Jax's voice interrupted her thoughts as he suggested they head inside on account of the chilly night air.

After they had come inside, Jax asked, "Would you like for me to draw you a bath?"

"Only if you agree to join me."

Jax drew the bath and they slowly removed each other's clothing. They stepped into the huge marble tub and Brenda took a washcloth and soaped it completely. She then began gently scrubbing Jax's neck, chest, shoulders and arms. When she had finished, Jax returned the favor. Brenda then moved toward him, straddling him as she sat on his lap. Her arms tightened around his neck as he began to nibble on her ear. He slid further into the tub and gasped as she slowly caressed his thighs. Her deliberate slowness was driving him wild. He pulled her to him as his hands fully explored her breasts. Their lips then met and their desire was uncontrollable. Their bodies melded together as the passion erupted inside them. Moans of delight were heard as their souls united once again.

Jax and Brenda had spent the past few days exploring the island. The weather had cooperated as the sunshine and mild temperatures had allowed them to spend the daytime hours outdoors. The black sand beach was like nothing Brenda had ever seen and it would be impossible to describe its beauty with mere words or photographs. She told Jax they would have to bring Robin and Lois to the island to witness this paradise firsthand.

Today, they were taking it easy as Brenda had dealt with her first bout of morning sickness. She had spent the morning in bed and Christina had brought her tea and toast. Jax had used the time to speak to Addie and catch up on the stock market trading of the past few days. He had also spoken to his parents and was relieved that his father was feeling much better. He and Brenda had decided to wait until they saw John and Jane the following weekend to tell them the news of the baby.

Brenda was feeling better now and was in the living room reading. She had spoken to both Robin and Lois earlier. Robin told Brenda that she had spoken to Sonny and he had asked about the wedding. She reassured Brenda that she had said nothing to him or anyone else about the baby. Brenda wondered if there had been any progress made on the murder attempt on Sonny but Robin said she was unaware of any progress on the case. Lois had told Brenda that Brooke Lynn had turned over for the first time and had also given her some advice on how to deal with morning sickness.

Jax entered the living room and sat down beside her. He quickly kissed her and asked how she was feeling. She told him she was fine. The sun was beginning to set and they ventured out onto the terrace to witness the sunset. The air had turned colder today so Brenda had her coat on and Jax was holding her closely to his body. As the orange and red colors bounced off the harbor, Brenda took a deep breath. The view was breathtaking.

Later that evening, Brenda and Jax were on the floor in front of the fire in the living room. Brenda was in his arms and her head was resting on his chest. Jax had given Christina and Andreas the night off so he and Brenda were completely alone. The CD player was playing Jim Brickman's latest CD. She closed her eyes and envisioned what their life would be like a year from now. She saw Jax with their blond, blue-eyed son in his arms. She saw him in their bed asleep with their son sleeping on his chest. Brenda then took Jax's hand and brought it to her lips. She wanted to stay like this forever.

The Villa
6:00pm

Brenda and Jax had returned earlier this morning from a three day trip to Rome. They had visited St. Peter's and the Sistine Chapel and had seen the Colosseum and the various other ruins along the Tiber River. They had also toured various museums and galleries and seen many of the works of Michelangelo. They had even thrown coins in the Trevi Fountain. They were now back at the villa to spend a few more days of relaxation before they left for Alaska on Saturday.

The afternoon sun was warm so Jax and Brenda had spent most of afternoon walking on the beach. When they had returned, Christina told Jax that Mac Scorpio had called and wanted Jax to call him at the Outback. When Jax called the Outback, Miranda answered the phone. Jax was startled to hear her voice and she told him that she had accepted a job from Mac to help Felicia run the place. Mac then came on the line and said he had called Jax to inform him that they had made no progress on the case concerning the gifts to Brenda. Jax muttered to himself that Sonny certainly knew how to cover his tracks. He thanked Mac for the information and told him he would speak to him upon his return to Port Charles.

Brenda asked Jax about his conversation with Mac and Jax explained that Mac had no leads on the gifts to her. He then told her about Miranda's new job. Great, thought Brenda, now Miranda certainly will remain in town. Jax could see the dismay on her face and told her it did not matter what Miranda did because Miranda was his past and Brenda and their baby were his future. Brenda walked over to him and told him she loved him as he took her in his arms.

Christina had prepared a candlelight dinner for Jax and Brenda's last night on the island. Brenda and Jax took turns feeding each other shrimp and oysters as soft music played in the background. After dinner, they had spent some time on the terrace gazing at the stars and then danced in front of the fire in the living room. It was a magical evening and they never wanted it to end. As the hours passed, they held each other close and whispered words of love. When they could not hold off their passion any longer, Jax lifted Brenda into his arms and ascended the stairs.

They slowly removed each other's clothes and he slipped her under the down comforter. He got into bed next to her and began caressing her cheek. She kissed his palm and then began kissing his cheeks. His lips moved to hers and claimed them. As their kisses became more demanding, she moved on top of him. His hands moved down her back and then he moaned as his control was slipping. Brenda increased the intensity of her kisses and Jax had lost all control. He rolled over so he was now on top of her and the ecstasy began. Brenda was gasping as Jax's passion had reached a climax and his body interlocked with hers. He needed Brenda to know how much he loved her. Her equally intensive passion and simultaneous climax brought a view of heaven to both of them.

They then collapsed in each other's arms exhausted from the fervor of their lovemaking and the intensity of their love. They spent the rest of the night entangled in each other's arms as they awaited the sunrise and their departure from this island of paradise. As they drifted off to sleep, they dreamt of their new life together and the joys of starting over.
